Imagine with just the lift of your
hands and be able to move objects across the room. Then imagine being severely
wounded and yet your body is able to heal itself of all injuries. These
extraordinary skills were featured in Universal Pictures’ movie “Lucy.” In “Lucy,”
many of these laws of physics are broken to show how the main character, Lucy,
have evolved past human intellectual.
In the movie “Lucy,” which is named
after its main character, Lucy, she was involved with the Korean gang by her
boyfriend. He tricked her into being a drug mule for the gang. The gang put a
bag of CPH4, a valuable drug, in her abdomen. While she was beaten up and kicked
on her abdomen, the bag of drug broke and spread into her system. The drug gave
Lucy extraordinary strength, telepathic and psychokinesis powers, and the
ability to heal with any injuries. As the drug slowly spread through her body,
in terms of percentages, it starts to disintegrate her cells. To control this disability,
Lucy had to find the CPH4 and took them. Near the end of the movie, Lucy
infused all the CPH4 that she found from other drug carriers, like herself. After
taking a large dose of the drug, Lucy began physically transforming into a
black metallic substance and fusing with all the electronics them disappear with
time.
Many laws of physics were
broken to emphasize the effect of CPH4 on Lucy. One of the physics that does
not applied to Lucy was gravity. The second law of physics that was broken is
that whatever pain that an ordinary human would feel, Lucy does not feel any
pain. Third, Lucy gains the ability to move objects with the thoughts in her
mind. These are some examples of how the law of physics was broken in the movie
“Lucy.”
In “Lucy,” the drug CPH4 gave the
main character, Lucy, many skills that broke a lot of law of physics. One of
these broken laws of physics is when a group of gang ran toward Lucy to attack
her. Lucy gave them a glare and then they all flew off the ground. Their bodies
levitate on air then fell back to the ground. Another scene when Lucy defies
gravity was right after Lucy recovered from her injuries. In a cell, one of the
gangsters came in the jail to give her another beating. The CPH4 is currently affecting
Lucy at 20%. Lucy was able to escape from the cell by beating up the gangster
and flipping him 360 degrees in the air and then he hit the ground. As shown in the image below:
These are a
few examples of how Lucy broke the law of physics.
Pain does not exist for Lucy. The
second law of physics that was broken is the feeling of pain. The CPH4 drug
made Lucy’s body clear of all feelings of pain. In the movie, a scene when after
Lucy killed five gangsters that started shooting at her in an attack. She
pulled out a bullet that was near her clavicle bone without any anesthetic.
Another example of how the CPH4 made Lucy immune to pain was when Lucy asked a
doctor to take out a bag filled with CPH4 drug that was sewn into Lucy abdomen.
The doctor completed the surgery without using any anesthetic on Lucy. As shown in the image below:
These
are some examples of how the CPH4 drug broke the law of physics for Lucy.
The last example of how the law of
physics in “Lucy” was broken was how Lucy obtains extraordinary skills. In a
scene in the movie, on an airplane, when Lucy was panicking because she was disintegrating
due to the effect of CPH4. A flight attending came near Lucy, she raised her
hand in a panic and the flight attendant flew backward. Another example of Lucy’s
extraordinary powers was when the drug CPH4 was activating in Lucy at 50%. This
allows Lucy to use her x-ray visions to see through the walls and people. A
third example of Lucy’s powers was when Detective Del Rio was pointing a gun at
Lucy. Lucy controls the detective so he was not able to move. She also unloads
his bullets with psychokinesis skills. As shown in the image below:
The last of Lucy’s powers was when the
CPH4 was activating at 60%. A group of gangster came running towards Lucy, she
stop all of them by using her psychokinesis skill to raise them all above
ground. They were all suspended on air then thrown to the ground. These are all
examples of Lucy extraordinary powers due to the CPH4 exposure in her body.
In Universal Pictures’ “Lucy,” many
laws of physics do not apply to the main character, Lucy. This was done on
purpose to deliver her extraordinary powers caused by the chemicals in the drug
CPH4. The CPH4 was implanted into Lucy by the Korean gang to use her as a drug
mule. The CPH4 bad in Lucy’s abdomen broke in her body when she was beaten up
by one of the gangster. Additionally, the drug gave Lucy extraordinary
strength, telepathic and psychokinesis powers, and the ability to heal. With
these powers, the movie had to break a few law of physics to support how
special Lucy became after being effected by the CPH4. An example of how the law
of physics was bent for Lucy is the law of gravity. She can levitate her
enemies with her psychokinesis powers and is not affected by the gravity.
Secondly, pain does not exist for Lucy. Lucy became immune to pain as a result
of the drug CPH4. Additionally, the drug gave her healing ability. The third
power that Lucy gains from the CPH4 drug is the abilities of psychokinesis and
telepathy. These three abilities were caused by the CPH4. It only affects Lucy
since she was the only person that has the CPH4 in her body. To make these
abilities convincing, the movie had to break these law of physics. On the
contrary to prove that these law of physics only affected Lucy was when one of
the detective was shot on the neck by the Korean gang. Detective Del Rio was
bleeding and felt the pain clearly since he was not affected by the CPH4. This
proves that CPH4 broke the law of physics for only Lucy to show how she has
extraordinary powers.
